Default 33/34 roadster windshield mesurement issue

Bought years ago a repo windshield frame and an OEM (I think) one.. the repo max height at pointed tip is 13.0 inch and the OEM 13.5 inches ...is real OEM 13.5 inches??? Who makes best repo if I can not restore the OEM (assuming 13.5 inches is OEM correct).

Thank you

Ed, you are in Salem, correct? We have an original we use for fitting and you are welcome to come up here and compare yours.

We have gotten a couple of NC Industries frames in and they do look great and are a huge improvement over the rectangular tube ones previously available... HOWEVER they are not a perfect duplicate, the front to back thickness is slightly narrower than our original. They do not have cones available (though originals could work though very loose). I am working on having cones cast in stainless to fit the NC frame, photo of my 3D plastic prototype attached.

Trauwein made a 34 cabriolet one for me a couple of years back.
An absolutely fantastic job.
I did an exact pattern from my original frame and he duplicated it perfectly.
I am not sure however if he does roadster frames but well worth asking.

Karl,

Can one use original studs with your new cones?

I have not test fit, however the hole is 3/8+ so it should be no problem.

Karl,

My question is triggered by the construction of your reproduction which appears to be solid rather than hollow like the original cone and the need for sufficient clearance for the larger round area at the end of the threaded portion of the windshield frame end of an original stud plus the square section for tightening the stud into the windshield frame before the cone is attached.

Dave, or anyone else out there with an original stud, could you pm me a sketch of the original stud and I will attempt to mock up and see if I need to counterbore for clearance or if there simply is not enough room on the NC frame (it is narrower than the original, .545" vs .575").

If you don't receive an earlier response, I can provide the sketch you've requested next week. The NC frame is wide enough as I've previously used original studs with their frames.
