Default Steering column bushings(s)?

Guys is there one or two rubber surronded bushings inside the steering column? The exploded view in the Green Book shows only one but 2 came out of mine. Is there one high and one near the box? Thanks in advance.

one only, a bushing down the shaft would do no good--replace yours with a bearing, like ford did later, sure makes the steering easier.

Instead of removing the old bushing, often times it is easier to drive the old bushing further down the shaft and then install the new bushing. That's how you end up with two. Alan is correct, I would replace the old bushing with the new bearing type. I see them listed on epay every once in a while. Good luck, Pat
