Re: Bad influence???
If you even "mention" an I.Q. TEST, in a crowd, the WHOLE group gits PARANOID & DEFENSIVE!!!! IT'S FUNNIE!!!
When I took the test, the most AMAZING thing was the Summary the Guy wrote. He GLEANED things about me, that ONLY people close to me KNEW!!! The Guy wuz a GENIUS!!!! The real tests are VERY complicated & involved!!! All just to determine your General Intelligence Level & age is figured into the formula! A score of 100, is considered "NORMAL" or Average. Re: Bad influence???
I sure don’t care how you spell. Hell, as long as you get your point across, no one else should either. This is a model A forum not a spelling bee. As long as you can spell yep and nope, you’re doing great.
I couldn’t care less about your I.Q. I think the test was wrong when it only scored you at 122. In fact, I know it was. Bill, if there was a test that would take in to account all your experience, hardships, successes, accomplishments, and sense-of-humor, your score would be off the chart. So there, Mike |

Bill- Given the intent of your original post, I'd say it's 122 or above. Alex

Re: Bad influence???
IQ is a relative thing. When it comes to politics you can have two people with an IQ of 150 and their average IQ will drop to 100. When there are 4 with an IQ of 150 it will drop to 75. The US senate has 100 people that I assume have an IQ of over 100 but their collective IQ seems to be in single digits. Go figure.

I scored real high on one young so ill never take another. HA. The government has determined I.Q.s lower than 83 are untrainable. Or just not worth trying to train.

Re: Bad influence???
So many people wrongly called it "DUCK" tape that a company took advantage of it and started marketing their own brand called "DUCK" tape. I saw it at Menards.

Re: Bad influence???
One thing I’ve learned about using the forum on the Ford Barn. I come across as being a lot smarter than I do when I speak. Hell, it takes a lot of time and effort to type out expletives, and yet they are so much a part of my spoken language that I feel funny not using them. There are just some cuss words that put everything into a much clearer perspective than “Shoot” or “Ah, shucks.”
When I hit my thumb with a hammer, I sure don’t yell out, “Oh, shucks.” When I talk to my model A when it does something really weird, I don’t say, “Darn, what is wrong with you now?” It’s taken me many years to gather together all those wonderful words that make normal polite terms seem pale in comparison. Mom used to say that I talked like a truck driver or swore like a sailor. I always thought it was a compliment. She always criticized Dad when he’d swear around us kids. I enjoyed the way my old man spoke. If he was still around, he’d be amazed and shake his head at how far I’ve progressed in the art of profanity. My wife seems to be able to block out a lot of what I say. Crap, she is able to block out almost everything I say. If I was going to be buried instead of cremated, I think I would like my tombstone to read, “He sure the f##k wasn’t timid about what he said.” There, now the truth is out. Whenever I post something in the future, insert your own expletives whenever needed. I’m sure you all can come up with some good ones. Mike Last edited by wingski; 04-03-2018 at 11:22 AM. Re: Bad influence???
My wife and daughters saw that 'DUCK' tape. They were very quick to point out to me that I keep calling it by the wrong name (DUCT).

Re: Bad influence???
Ironically, common duct (or "duck") tape is not a good choice for sealing air ducts because it dries out over time. Use adhesive-backed aluminum tape instead.

Every word I write is underlined in red. Could this be beacause my spell check is set in Dutch (Flemish). Maybe that is why no one replies to me, no one can read it... |

Re: Bad influence???
Duct,(Duck) Tape is a product of WWll for sealing ammo boxes. Like most other things, there is poor quality and very good,(expensive), quality.

Re: Bad influence???
Before I retired I was a mechanic for a large package delivery company. When ever I walked into the truck drivers office I had to warn them to watch there language because there was a mechanic in here. My dad was in construction all his life. When I watch the movie The Christmas Story there dad reminds me of my dad, he could use profanity like a painter worked with oils.

Re: Bad influence???
Re use of profanity: I've read that the use of profanity is "a sign of a weak mind feebly trying to express itself". Think about it. If a person has to communicate using words only four letters long (or five once in awhile) he is definitely lacking a good vocabulary!

A family couldn't get their son to speak. They took him to a number of doctors and psychiatrists and none of them could find anything wrong with boy. One day they were having dinner at the table when the boy suddenly said "this food tastes like shit." Everyone at the table was amazed. "We thought you couldn't speak," the father exclaimed. "Well, the food has been good until now," the son replies.

Re: Bad influence???
I buy the expensive good quality commercial grade duct tape. One roll is the extra wide. My three boys used it all up one day making medieval swords and armor ect. So after that I bought the cheep duck tape to leave laying around the shop, so thy wouldn’t wipe out my supply of the good stuff.

Re: Bad influence???
I find it interesting that the word"shit" has become profanity. It comes from shipping goods from England to the cities in the Mediteranen. They would use horse manure for ballast on the way home and Methane gas would build up in the hold of the ship. When some unsuspecting sailer checked the cargo with a lantern the ship would blow out of the water. Signs were then put on the piles of manure in the cities that said "Shiip High In Transport" or "shit". Jack
