Default Flat Head Engine Date

Greetings, I have a flat head in my 31 project (just bought it) and I don't understand the date coding on these motors. Can anyone help me out and let me know which motor I have (3.9?) and what year it is?

Thanks

There is an early V8 forum where you may get better answers.

The heads and timing cover are 49-53. Whether the block is or not I don’t know. Model A’s have 4 cylinder engines, so as stated above hit the early V8 forum.

The first picture looks like the back of the engine, if it is then you have a
1949-53 as stated above.

Yep, it looks like a 239 [ 49-53]

And I like a Flatty with a 6 pack.
