Default Power master question ?

I bought a 6vt pos ground powermaster alternator the application is for a
49 to 53 in which I had a fresh EAB in my 46 while my 59A was rebuilt. OK
this will not fit my new 59A. the question is, will this alternator work on my
F8 337? the set up looks the same as its little brother 8BAs. Figure I'd ask
before removing the generator on a F8 truck, and that means step ladders and dealing with all three belts - (fan water pumps generator and air compressor)
and my old bones don't bend no more LOL.

Problem is, the engine starts right up, but the amp meter shows way up, BUT
quickly drops back to the middle? thats not right in my book. Old saying; it
takes five miles of driving to put back the starting juice. My book says this
truck has a 40 amp generator. New regulator, same thing, new big commercial
battery same thing. If I was 50 yrs younger it would be done, so I ask first.
Or leave it be: I hope all has a good laugh: just ramblin again sam
