Oil pressure ?
Quick update rundown. Fresh 59A nothing spared . Has been now a month
with about 300 miles on it. On start up immediate 60# idle 60# hot or 180 temp 60# at any speed, and 40 45# idle and talk about pep it will snap your neck off. Thats amazing for a little V8 65 mph effortlessly & quiet . Ok our shop is behind the house but too far to walk, so I go down the street using our water dept road into the shop (we share their road) so I park in the shade (I got 60# pressure) shut it off. Later I move car under tree in shade now I have 30# dash gage and a wimpy 40# on SW mechanical gage. Say what? Go around the block and Its like 5# idle and barely 30 # at say 35mph. I just can not figure how it was perfect at shut down & next start it is not. Then I can't believe a relief valve spring broke or is stuck, both are Van Pelt new. Galley oil plugs are Van Pelt new with sealer. Within the 300 miles I changed oil 3 times Racing oil , also I see Napa racing oil has new yellow sticker high zink for flat tappets on the bottle, oil so clean can't read dip stick. Gut feeling motor comes out again. internal hemoridge i think sam |

Re: Oil pressure ?
Sounds like a pump problem.

Re: Oil pressure ?
Yes. I would check the pump, Also the pressure relief valve in front of block, if you didn't plug it off.

Re: Oil pressure ?
Thanks, went to work as usual this morning and everything is well , back to
60# So bad dream or gremlins =can't believe something floating around in there to keep relief valve from closing big bucks for thermo clean and I also blew it out with shop air, pure cast iron when I got it back. Oh well maybe a piece of RTV sealer got sucked up from who knows where, but fine now..... sam |

Recent SW gauges suck. Don't trust them. Been burned. A 10$ autozone works even better but looks bad. Function over form. |
