How to repair this..?
This repair was made who knows when..it was there when we bought the truck...
I'm sure the best course would be to replace the crossmember... But, do you think it could be welded, after the patch had been removed? It is difficult to see how badly cracked it is, but a little is visible... I guess I'm looking at a "point of no return"...if I remove the patch, would welding be an option?

Re: How to repair this..?
The best fix is a nicer crossmember. But if you're a good welder or know a good welder, then yes you can successfully weld up cross members

Re: How to repair this..?
Go for the new crossmember. Likely cheaper and better in the long run! Wayne
