Side Curtain question
Someone is the past posted photos of side curtains he made using clear plastic trimmed with cloth that was sewn on. Can anyone advise who that may have been, and where those photos might be. I searched back a full year, and could not locate them.
LeBonney B. has had my order for side curtains for two years, and still not delivery. Very hard to believe. Thanks!!

Re: Side Curtain question
According to what I've read, the problem LB and other are having is the snaps on the lower edge of the side curtains are not available. Someone needs to tool up and make some--good ones, I hope.

Re: Side Curtain question
What body style are we talking about here folks? I have a set of original 1930 Phaeton curtains which I can send pics and measurement to anybody if required.
I have priced the side curtain to body socket fasteners and I am looking at making a sizeable run. I have told the manufacturers that they will all be returned for a full refund if they do not work exceptionally well.

Re: Side Curtain question
Were you referring to the all clear side curtains rather than the original style with its
small rectanular "peep hole"? I saw a set that a fellow had made by a shop that made canvas boat covers and camper tops. Lots of your larger boats (26' and longer have large tops with equally large side curtains. Any shop that can make these boat tops/curtains could probably make the kind you describe. The only hang up is the push button fasteners mentioned in the above posts. |

Re: Side Curtain question
Bob,What has LeBaron Bonney had to say about your side curtains?I bought some without fasteners because they told me there was a problem with them.I walk in,order, they tell me 2-3 weeks.Usually I get my stuff within days.A walk in order is no different,it gets punched in the computer in line behind all the others. Also,I'm no special customer of theirs,I just happen to walk in instead of calling.

Re: Side Curtain question
It is my understanding that the only source for those fasteners went away. The last I heard no one had stepped up to begin making them again. A similar thing happened two years ago with body sockets. Good USA made ones are now approx $5.00 each.
I did hear that there are flat black finish fasteners available if you look for them. I think a guy told me that they were used in gov't/military applications. |

Re: Side Curtain question
I tried to order a set of door edge protector pads for the roadster and L-B B wouldn't take the order because the fasteners aren't available, that was 4 months ago.

Re: Side Curtain question
For those asking about Lebonney B,. I paid for side curtains nearly 2 years ago. They do not accept your patterns without payment. Since then, there has been nothing but excuses about the fastner availability. They send a card every few months, saying they are sorry about the fastners.
Don't you think if this many people are looking for fastners and side curtains, they would find a manufacturer, and get the job done??

If you mean protectors for the door tops where you rest your arm then I'm not aware of anything. I was thinking of making something like a towel with magnets stitched in one end to hold it to the door. |

Re: Side Curtain question
I have top protectors on one of my cars. The outside snaps into the side curtain holes on the door, and the inside is weighted and just hangs down.I have no idea who made them.I was at the flea market and a man I had bought stuff from said, you need these. They were in a package but I can't remember the maker. What I like about them is I can drive without frying my arm on the doortop.I have shoulder problems and can't drive an A with my arm inside. In a closed A,rain or shine,my arm has to be out the window.

Re: Side Curtain question
This should be a new thread as it has nothing to do with the original post made 6 years ago.
