Default power valve for 8BA

Ford calls for a power valve of 6 to 6.5 inches of mercury for a 49-51 car. Have seen where Charlie says the good valves from Daytona only come in 5.5 and 7.5. Is it better to go bigger or smaller in a stock 8BA application on a Holley/Ford 94 in a shoebox car? Thanks in advance.

Power valve selection is also dependent on altitude. Maybe you know this already, and have accounted for that.

JH,
Well I'm staying with Daytona Parts because they are the best. I have found however that each power valve now requires I confirm it's in/hg. In 95% of applications Daytona's 7.5 PV will do the job.

Suggest you just get them from Charlie ny. Great to work with, always ready to answer your questions.
