Finish on body mounting bolts
The finish on body mounting bolts is a dipped black paint. Was this a very thin coat of paint? How did Ford prevent chipping the paint on the head when tightening them?

Re: Finish on body mounting bolts
A thin coat of alkyd enamel over properly cleaned steal is very durable. It may wear through or abrade, but it will rarely chip unless the paint film thickness is excessive.

Re: Finish on body mounting bolts
I might be misunderstanding all of this, but what I am looking at suggests that the paint disappeared from the bolts except where protected by the mounting blocks....am I wrong, it happens all the time LOL
