Default TCP Global

Has anyone painted a Model A using TPC Global Restoration Shop Paint?
If so what color(s) did you use, what type of paint and what did you think of the color match?

I have used TPC global restoration single stage urethane and am more than pleased with it. Although I used it on a Model A body, I used a 1956 Ford color, so can’t help you with color match, etc.

Used their product to paint my "52 F1. This was my first time for painting a car. Product worked great and I was pleased with the results. Not an "A" but would use TCP again. Chap

I have bought stuff from them on occasion when I needed something special. I bought some paint from that line that replicates the look of red oxide primer but is an actual paint. No problems with it yet, don't know if I would paint a car with it though.

I have bought lacquer from TCP on several occasions. They have the color libraries for older cars including the Model A's. The colors have always been what I would consider to be correct.

My experience,

I've used TCP when I bought a gallon of urethane primer. UPS delivered it and the paint can was damaged. Called TCP, sent a picture and details. They said keep the spilled paint and sent me another gallon can with reducer and hardener. I'd definitely use their services and products. Keep driving that "A". LRF

Their lacquer is great and very reasonably priced the last time that I used them.

Some areas of the country they can’t sell some of their products, ie lacquer. They have other products that fill the needs for automotive paint. I did my car with both products Restoration Shop, epoxy primer and acrylic urethane. The finish is better IMHO than the PPG Concept that my pickup was painted, most of the problem on my pickup I believe was low grade primer. The PPG easily chips. I didn’t paint the pickup , it was done when I bought it.

TCP Global is a quality supplier. I use the new acrylic urethane paints. They are a bit more expensive but the stuff drys quick, glossy and hard (requires a hardener). It seems to be a very sticky paint and does not run easily. Be sure to get a full face mask using the 3M organic filters, the stuff is toxic. Ed
