Default New engine time!

Tim finished my engine and she is home on a stand now. It took me 90 minutes to separate the bell housing and tranny so I could slide it out from under the car. Still plugging away.

You didn't have Tim break-in the engine after rebuild? I've watched pretty much all of his Youtube videos. Your transmission looks like it could use some attention as well.

I am hoping to reuse the tranny cooling lines. I assume the horizontal line is a vent line of some sort. It will just take up space until I clean it up and rebuild it for fun.

Yep, I will start prepping for paint this weekend-assuming it doesn't rain. And is warm enough to prime.

As long as they aren't kinked or dented too bad and corrosion is minimal then they should be usable. The little tube is a vent. Boy that thing is a crusty bugger.

Not to hijack the post.
We're doing one now that sat for ten years and came from Colorado.
Customer was very surprised when tried to start it after ten years and saw this underneath valve covers.
Both heads were cracked and leaking antifreeze into engine.
We're rebuilding it now if anyone cares to see what's inside a tired 312?

Wow, that's ugly! Looks like it was stored outside for 10 years. Did you repair the heads or find new ones?

Believe it or not it was stored in a climate control garage. bought it for his wife and never drove it. We think it was like this when he bought it.
We were able to crack repair the heads since we do metal stitching.
He wanted to keep all of it original .
