Default Oil change?

Is it 5 quarts of oil when you have an oil filter?

Six on initial fill. Or just add the filter capacity.

Using an oil filter and a K&N air filter will keep your oil clean for several months.

The Model a design is that if your oil level is too full, the oil will run out on the floor. Same if it is not

Truer words were never spoken

I drain and then add 4 1/2 qts. that works on our Model A. Half a quart stays in the dipper tray.

If you just drain the oil, the old oil will stay in the dipper tray so you still only need 4 qts. The dipper tray does not drain unless you have one with holes or have drilled holes.

Adding 5 1/2 QTs on a refill seems about 1 too many, maybe after the pan is off and cleaned.
