You did not get under my skin and I hope I didn't trigger you either. Think I said the same as above with more options.

Thank you

Most of the folks make the best out of a convoluted hose arrangement which I too can do; I was simply looking for a better option that also looks cool too.

All the best,

OK ....

FYI; I have always used my ability to create a pattern and then find something close and then trim as needed to make it work after which I make note of the hose # for future replacement needs.

In this situation many years ago I did this however, I had reason to remove the hose for other upgrades during which I am simply looking to improve the layout. When I ran across the offset adapter as sold by Honest Charlie’s I said; those are fricken cool!!

Sure I can fabricate a nice aluminum or stainless S pipe to create the offset however using 1 3/4” tube the overall length and offset would be greater than desired. These offset adapters are 2 1/2” on center and relatively short.

In any case.

Having shared all of this I asked only 2 questions;

1. Are they a quality product able to weather the test of time.
2. Are they restrictive.

You take care,

Shadowman

If those short offset hoses are what you need, look at #21236 hose at O’reilly’s. It has the same offset at one end and worked perfectly for my 8BA flathead. Cost is about $16.

Let me be very clear; it is not a money issue and furthermore; if you had asked the same question I would either; answer as able, watch the thread because I found it interesting, or moved on. I would “never” speak down to you.

For those that have helped; thank you.

Well spoken. I wish more people on the HAMB had this attitude!

I appreciate your comment.

Forums can be a wonderful gathering point for all sorts of purposes but all to often as the years roll by they become the reflection of a few: akin to their personal garage rather than a welcome place for all.

Several people here were quick to offer their assistance; both first hand and opinions for this I am very appreciative as I will do the same as able.

You take care and all the best.

Thank you,

Shadowman

Nice!!!

I am about to purchase the offset adapter from Honest Charlie’s and will also have one of these hoses delivered so I have options.

I like the idea of the cast aluminum offset adapter because I think it looks cool; as if a OEM consideration and using it would only require a solo molded hose between it and the water pump; whereas using the cut end of the Gates hose will require 2 molded hoses and a slip joint; NBD, just not as tidy.

In the end; the direction that I take will be determined once I see how much the offset adapter restricts water flow.

Thank you again for all your of assistance as it means a great deal.

Have you thought about making your own out of copper tubing and 90 degree elbows?
Then use straight hose pieces to connect.

Thank you Paul

I just looked through the first 5 pages and do not see them; any chance that you can associate the specific thread?

Thank you again,

I have had that aluminum adapter and felt it was slowing flow because of the sharp turns. I didn’t need such a sharp turn as I had more room to play with. As a hotrodder I always look for hoses with a nice offset and one has already been posted and a few more Goodyear 60835 and one I used and worked great NAPA 16242 as pictured.

As you see the gates 21236 has a nice off set on both ends. I like to buy something that could be bought on the road when away from home at the local auto parts store. With the hose numbers you can go to the store and see if it will work for you and welcome to the barn and try the HAMB is a cool place to hang when chilling
