I know I haven't posted much lately but I have been reading
Yesterday while driving Merlot through town, I went to signal a left turn and the switch handle broke off in my hand. This is the 1950's style devise that has the wheel that runs on the base of the steering wheel to automatically cancel. My question, does anyone make this type of signal switch still for us old car users?

There's lots of repo switches that mount to the column, but I don't believe anyone makes one with the "cancelling wheel". You might find a good used one on e-bay.

If all else fails, the lever can be repaired. The control is fair simple once you get the cover off. More often than not, the cancel wheel "tire" is hard or broken. We use an "O" ring as a replacement.

I'm not sure it can be repaired, as it is cast metal. I don't have it apart yet. Guess I'll have to use the old hand signals again, although most people now think you are just waving at them!

Could it be an Auto light 9000 painted silver with one green pilot light? If so have lever assy. Laurie

If you take it apart, see if a machine shop can reproduce it (not to complicated)

Just to give a follow-up to my request and to say how lucky we are to have such a forum. TEICH and I have emailed each other and yesterday I received the signal switch arm in the mail. The exact one! No money exchange but I have gained a new friend. I'll return the favour with a 100th Canadian Anniversary of Ford book that I have and many Thanks to TEICH.
