Default narrowing rear fenders for wide bed PU

Getting ready to narrow pickup fenders from a narrow bed to fit a 31 wide bed. Anybody have any articles on how to do it. Thanks, Mel

I did it for a huckster pickup I was building. I mounted the fender in position with the running board on, determined what I had to narrow it to by how much it overhung the running board , scribed it lengthwise near the center then sliced it in two, removed the width I had to reduce it with a 1/32 grinding wheel and butt welded it back together then ground the weld flush.

Why not just measure the desired new width (difference between the narrow and wide beds), and cut masking tape to that difference and run the tape across the center of the two fenders, cut, and reweld? Disclaimer: I admit to never having done this.
