All I know about the compression ratio is that it was the same as the Weiand finned heads of the era. They are great heads if you are going for a "sleeper" looking engine. They were built for the sportsman class racing that required stock ford heads. They usually passed inspection. Mine were painted ford green and the paint was old!

Opinions on price are always all over the place, and you never know who's real and who's fantasy on the internet. Condition is everything if you plan to use them, so make sure you figure out whether you're buying something useful or art.
Actually, mine do say "Made in Canada", and are genuine Ford parts, not Wieand.

Yes, because yours are real ford. The cheater heads said only Canada. Thought that was explained well but the Weiand cheater heads say Canada, the ford heads say "made in Canada" on them.

Got it. Didn't know the Wieand heads had the Ford parts number on them. Good to know.

As far as chamber design and compression - pretty close. You'll notice the chamber is like a high-compression head (does not have the big trough over the transfer area).

Another nice thing about "Cheater heads" is they are a bolt-on way of getting high compression. Common high compression or "finned heads" require pulling studs and replacing them with longer studs to accommodate the thick heads. Needless-to-say, many of us know the "joys" of pulling studs.

When considering "used" heads there are a few things to look for.
1. Corrosion. That is easy with a close inspection.
2. Straightness. If they are warped you may be able to clean them up by milling.
3. AND MOST IMPORTANT chamber size. If they have been milled to raise compression or straighten them you may not have enough clearance for even a stock cam.
While most aftermarket and Canadian heads were great when new, it is hard to tell the chamber size without CCing them.
Just my 2¢..

Found a copy of an ad in an Honest Charley catalog from 1961. Seems this head was available in two different compression ratios. I like the 1961 price.
