If you listen to all the old timers on here , you wont have to day any research , they have done it for you ! They will mostly tell you =L100
Be careful , that Potvin eliminator 425 is not a street cam & when you usethe valve spring tension it requires , it shortens the longevity if the cam =Drag strip only !
Cheers

I have a Potvin 425 elimator in my dragster, it's an awsome cam for an all out drag engine but I don't think you want to run it on the street. i've used at least 4 L-100 in the last 2-3 years for customers, it sounds mean at a cruse night and a great performer on the street. Walt

I've got a Potvin 415. Sounds good, runs good but have not been able to find any specs on it yet.

You might consider the Comp Cams "Mutha Thumper" cams for the flathead. They only produce the cam for 49-53 timing covers but they are on new cores, have modern hardening and have a base circle only slightly less than a stock cam. They do include new gears.

I have one but it is not in an engine yet.

I think Sanborn has a good suggestion for those who want the "radical" idle. The Comp cams have the lobe separation angle moved together more than most cams which will translate to a monster idle rythum.

Try searching for a thread titled "How's your cam?" it has some links to some great sound clips.

Yep they were made by the Literio Bros of Providence RI. They are now made by Cam techniques of Sarasota Fla. Started life as a real good short tarck cam in 52 and ended up being one of the best street cams. Even gives great fuel milage, go figger.
