Model A small detail questions
Hi, this is Martin Mindling in South East Ohio. My car is a 1928 Model A Phaeton, A11739 (engine date January 20, 1928). Have a few questions
I've been looking into: *Oil can - was the provided Ford oil can fastened to the firewall in any way? *Early light switch - understand this had a black rubber horn button and the words "On - Off - Dim" inscribed. Does anyone have a picture of this lettering or know where I can find a photo or diagram? *Engine tuning - my car has adjustable tappets and a "ground" cam (by the previous owner, apparently for touring). Have not been able to obtain a smooth idle and wondered if the cam / tappets arrangement could be the cause?? Is there any special adjustment for use with a ground cam? *Know of anyone who can rebuild the clutch pack from a multi-disc clutch? Would like to have the whole assembly with clutch and flywheel bench tested and balanced, if possible. Any advice much appreciated. Not feeling good about a grabby, chattering, multi disc clutch. Regards, [email protected] |
