Another Ford Video
Some scenes show the casting and machining of the block and crank along with much more.

Re: Another Ford Video
Reminds me of those Jim Handy films we saw in the shop classes of the 50's and 60's.
Very inspirational to the young engineers of tomorrow. Those were good times. |

Re: Another Ford Video
I was thinking the same thing. The only shop class I took was drafting, but the instructor like to show manufacturing films.

Re: Another Ford Video
Mickey Rooney was a Gem, loved his films.During the war my Mom hired an older boy to take us kids( several younger boys) To the movies Over on Milwaukee ave Chicago. At the times Theater. We got 10 cents for the show and a nickel for candy. Show started at 10AM and ended around 4 pm or so. It was a form of baby sitting, while the Moms went shopping and other things for the family. My mom worked at Zenith during the week. Sometimes we'd stop at the barber school and get a free hircut.. That building is still there.. I'm glad I can remembr these old days, times were different then

Re: Another Ford Video
A person can see the engine block flasks being loaded with cores and then going down the pouring line as well as a lot of the machine shop stuff too. Frame fabrication was fast but those guys had to turn out a lot of stuff in a shift. It was busy work for sure. No time to loli-gag around.
