Re: Changing Differential Oil
Yep, that's what I used in the service station. Each time you had to turn the dial back to zero, then pump away. No guesswork as to how much was used.

I have modified a hand-pump pressure kit sold for killing garden weeds.

Re: Changing Differential Oil
I use a transmission funnel witha flexible metal hose. I snake it up behind the body in front of the rear bumper and just pour it in. Takes a while but works good.

Like Tom and others the squeeze bottle the 600W comes in was quick and easy to put in the pumpkin for me.

Re: Changing Differential Oil
That's a great picture. I promise, I'm not laughing at all, really. I would never be so cruel. Excuse me now so I can wipe my eyes and catch my breath.
The good old squeeze bottle works fine for me. |

Re: Changing Differential Oil
I try to keep my head above the filler hole. I use a sta-lube pump that replaces the bottle cap.

Re: Changing Differential Oil
I use the pump that came with some other rear end lube that I got for my truck. Fits on a plastic gallon paint thinner container. The pickup tube is spring loaded so it goes most of the way to the bottom. The long filler tube reaches the rear end, transmission the works on the steering box to.

Re: Changing Differential Oil
I took a funnel and cut the bottom off so I had a hole just the right size that I could push a 90 degree elbow from one of those plastic irrigation kits over the end of it. I then sealed it with some silicone (before it got oily). I put the end of the elbow into the filler hole and prop the funnel up so it stays upright. I fill it with oil and go away to do other stuff and come back later. By then, its all drained in so I refill and do more until the diff is full. Cheap and easy and gravity has no seals to fail. (It also never lets up!!!)
