Looks like you have got a good start. I have never had good luck with the stock style hose clamps.

Depends on where you are at for how much anti-freeze but 1½ gallons anti-freeze to 1½ gallons distilled water is a good start. I run 1 gallon anti-freeze to 2 gallons distilled water in the summer.

Others will have their own opinions.

Pretty straight forward process to replace the lower metal pipe extension. Just be careful not to install it backwards as many have done.
I run 50/50 coolant to distilled water in mine all year long. I see no reason to do anything different than that.
It will take close to three gallons of coolant to fill the system. No need to fill it all the way up to the filler neck as it will push quite a bit of it out the overflow tube. Just enough to cover the tubes is all that is really necessary.

Not knowing what state you are in affects giving advice. If a northern state I have always run the 50-50 ratio of anti freeze and water. The anti freeze contains rust inhibitor so you are all set for at least one season. I run my antifreeze 8-10 years with rust inhibitor added once a year after the first year. The antifreeze does not wear out but the rust inhibitor in it does wear out which is why the experts suggest running it only a few years. In fact I never have to add any water or antifreeze as my cars loose any coolant.. With new radiator hoses a light inner coating of chassis grease will help making a tight seal and I have done this every time I have installed new hoses and have never had an indication of rot. My Coupe has had this treatment in the 78 years I have owned it, and my Phaeton in 65 ownership years.
