Default Safety first . . .

When installing an Autolite heater I had to grind off some edges to make it fit properly. I thought standing on the heater would work just dandy . . . until the handheld grinder caught my jeans. Duhhhh!

Do what I did, set up a Craigslist alert for "vise" and grab a nice used bench vise.

Reminds me of when I worked on a house renovation and was helping a guy cut a hole in a plaster ceiling with metal lath. The grinder caught and grabbed his shirt. Thankfully it was a heavy shirt because it wrapped around the wheel, stalled the grinder and popped the breaker. I've been more cautious cutting and grinding since then.

I learned a lesson long ago, that screwdrivers and eye balls can't occupy the same space at the same time. The eye loses.
