Radiator cooked corn??

Well....! I went for a drive today and stopped to talk to some friends and the radiator started boiling over. I drove up the hill to my house and figured I would take a look. I forgot that even with a non-pressurized radiator, we could have a geyser. Yup! And when the deluge was over, there were several pieces of cooked corn on my hood! Somewhere along the way, a local mouse had stored some winter provisions in there. I hope that the "flush" got it all out.

If the mouse was home when you started the motor, you might have cooked mouse in there too!

Sorry if this is a very stupid question, but how did the supposed mouse food was stored in the radiator or any other place and finished mixed with the water radiator.

I had a neighbor that started his model a in the spring and popped pop corn came out the muffler. If you have a hole in your coolant system big enough for a mouse to get in you better start looking for it. Maybe the mouse can take off the radiator cap off. They are pretty crafty . Frank

The dried corn must have been tucked away in the top of the radiator sometime when the cap was off. I bought this radiator on eBay.....so it might have been a chipmunk or pack rat hiding place from some other place. Anyhow, I think it was only a small amount, because it could not have gotten down the tubes....just in the upper chamber.
This past two weeks is the first that water has been in the radiator since I have owned it.

Would have been a good idea to back flush it since you didn't know the history of the radiator.

LOL.. now i understand. These guys are amazing.

I have my A in my barn. In winter my barn is a 5 starts hotel for mice. I am a new owner and the car was stored only this past winter for the first time in my barn. I used small plastic food cups with lids (with drilled holes) containing inside cotton and water mixed with peppermint oil (very concentrated). I placed them (4) inside the car and 2 on the floor under the engine and another 2 under the back of the car. After winter storage I didn't find any mouse poo inside or around the car. And the car smelled very nice. LOL :-)

I placed moth balls around the car during winter storage. It seemed to work but it took me a year to get the smell out. Not the pleasant peppermint smell. Jack

Would water freeze and not give off it's smell?
