Default cowl lights for our '28 Sport coupe

I'm not concerned about staying 100% original on our car so I would like to have cowl lights but I do wonder, could a '28 Sport Coupe have had them, maybe as a dealer installed option? Kinda like the gray wheels that match the body color on our car that I know didn't come from the factory.

I think there was a dealer option for cowl lamps, but it would have used a separate switch, since the 28 had only a 3-position lighting switch - off, dim, bright. If your car has been retrofitted with the later 4-position lighting switch, it would be an easier project. I'm away from home at present (Phoenix) so I don't have a reference handy.

I doubt that any of the 28-29 cars with coupe pillar style cowls came with cowl lights . The 28-29 cabriolet , town sedan and town car are the only models that come to mind that came from the factory with cowl lights .

As Purdy states in the above response they were used on body styles that had a different cowl, one more like the 1930-31 style. In my opinion they look out of place on the other body styles as they do not have the look that they belong. Your opinion may be different.
