a previous owner moved the gas fill tube on my ‘40 PU to inside the bed on the right rear corner. I know that’s not the correct location. Hard to find a clear pic of one showing the gas fill in correct location. Can someone post a pic.

The gas fill for a '40 pickup is on the left side and protrudes through the left rear fender similar to the 40 passenger car. I yours is on the right side and inside the bed you have the wrong tank for starters.

38-41 fenders and fill area are the same, here are some pictures of my 39. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Thx, big help. On Mine fender mount hole welded & u can’t see so will leave. I’ve seen flush mount on bed floor which is what I’ll probably do. Fender looks pretty as is��

Upon further inspection it looks like someone mounted it 180 degrees from stock? No clue why. The original fill hole on left rear fender nicely welded closed & blended. Would have thought he'd have put new hole thru bed on same side but looks like he reversed the tank position & put access on right rear of bed?
