Default Question on door glass metal channel 29 Tudor

I am working on installing new door glass in a 29 Tudor. I noticed that the metal channel at the bottom of the glass is positioned differently on the right side than it is on the left side. I would guess that there is no reason for it to be different, so my question is: what is the correct position for this metal channel.

I quick guess would be that the metal channel should be centered at the bottom of the glass????
