Default 47 1/2 ton hood install

Still having problem with the hood bracket with the spring installation. If I mount the spring as in the 41 trucks, there is a bend in the bracket that hits the firewall and will not let that work. Does the spring end of the lever get attached to the firewall or to the hood itself. Recent paint job and don't want to keep playing with the bracket. A pic of a 47 truck hood bracket installed would be great. I'll be trying it again Wednesday evening, hope someone can help. Thanks,

Several years ago when it came to installing my '46 hood, I thought I was going crazy with the same problem .
