Default What to do with my 31 p.u cab ?

I have a "what would you do " question. I have a late 31 p.u cab, steel top. My project is going to be a Huckster. All I need is the cowl and I'm wondering if I should sell the complete cab and look for just a cowl or is there a market if I disassemble the cab and sell only the top , back panel and doors ? Hmmmm.

A lot depends on were you live and shipping costs of things. I would think keeping the cab intact would be the proper thing to do if it is a solid unit.

The late cab is hard to find. Something like this may be more appropriate for the Huckster, but shippin can be a high. Last cowl I shipped was about $170 motorfreight. Rod

If you have a complete pickup cab; cowl, doors, back wall, steel top and the two steel top bows, it would be a shame to take it apart to make a huckster out of it. You could probably sell the cab for a decent price, get a cowl and have money left over.

Do not cut it apart. You could sell the cab, buy a nice cowl that doesnt need patch pannels with the money, and the have money left over. If i had the money i would make you an offer, but unfortunetely i dont

Jim, I'd leave it intact. You can always cut it up later if you don't get any nibbles.
Speaking of nibbles------you might get a few if you would post your location in your
profile or your signature. JMHO

I have a 30 cab that is disassembled, no wood, and in good condition. good firewall, No rust or rot , just a few small dings in the rear near the window. You would have to remove the gas tank for clean out, but otherwise the cowl is virtually ready to turn into a huckster at this point. I live a one days trip away from you. Whats the condition of your cab? I would trade if it has no rusted out cowl or rear cab lower belt and good doors. I am building a pickup and have a 31 frame, so a 31 cab would be more appropriate than my june 30 cab.

Hey Pat, Thanks for the offer but if I get rid of my cab it will probably be a purchase. I really don't want another complete cab. Like all have mentioned I'll probably now sell and that way can purchase a cowl and have some left over to get some other stuff I need...new tires, 12 volt conversion kit, wood, etc. Now if anyone has enough stuff to trade......
James.

James,

After seeing the picture of your cab in the "post a picture of your car thread" I can assure you, it is far too nice to cut up. Sell it and make some money.
