Re: Offenhauser Chevy 265/283 To Ford Manual Transmission Adapter
The most recent swap I have seen is big block Ford into '55-57 T bird.
I SAW it recently but it was probably done I would say in the 70's. The guy with the car museum in Moriarty New Mexico had it. Swap heyday seemed to be the 50's and early 60's. Old car magazines just have early Ford swap cars a plenty in them. Mostly Hemi's and Olds.A fair amount of Chevy 265/283's. Even have a whole bunch of articles giving you dimensions and weight of potential engines. Never attempted it myself.

'The 58-60 and no I don't think it will hold the torque!'
Depends on what you are going to do with it. If it is a stock or warmed over 430 then you could probably nurse it around. I probably have the article for putting Lincoln Zephyr gearsets in some Ford transmission. That might be just be for closer gear ratios not beefing it though. I would run a later manual engineered for high output '58 and up Ford/Lincoln big blocks. We have the big boy Cruisomatic so it is a non issue with us. Plus the word always has been with a manual you break stuff. This 430 deal of ours is not a parts scatterer 7500 rpm deal anyhow.

Re: Offenhauser Chevy 265/283 To Ford Manual Transmission Adapter
This is the missing Chevy Powerglide adapter that the listed trans adapter bolts to. Utilizing this Chevy part for some adapters back in the '60s was fairly common practice. DD
