Default Gas problem?

My 30 pickup runs for a short period then stops. Starts right up but keep stopping. My thinking is carburetor but any ideas appreciated.
Thanks, pete

Any chance the gas cap is not venting? Try removing the gas cap and run the engine to see if that cures the issue.

Try it with the gas cap off. You might have a vent problem. Brent beat me to it.

Sounds more like a partially plugged filter to me. If not the filter outside the tank, remove the shut-off valve at the bottom of the tank, someone may have installed a screen in the valve. Or just remove the line from tank to firewall and check the flow.
