30 31 light switch at the bottom of the steering column, hot or not.
On my light switch using a test light I tested all the contacts at the bottom of the light switch and I have three that are hot. Those three are grouped together.
My guess is that when all nine brass buttons are checked none of them should be hot. So, should some of them or all of them be hot or none of them hot. |

Re: 30 31 light switch at the bottom of the steering column, hot or not.
The three together are hot, yellow wire from generator (and battery) and green wire to brake switch. Also three together with one black wire to tail light. The other third is individual Dim, Bright and Cowl/Park contacts.
The triangular contacts behind the plate direct power from the yellow wire to the lights, depending on position. Brake switch is hot at all times, tail lights lit in any non-off position. |
