It is a special shoulder screw; any of the Stromberg dealers, ie,Uncle Max, will be able to furnish

And if that is an actual photo of how the poor thing looks now, then you really need to send the whole carb to Uncle Max to replace the screw along with a few other things. 8^) Jack E/NJ PS: Pronto!

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the responses. What is wrong with with an ugly duckling carburetor that has had an amateur rebuild? I am going to give the old girl a shot to run. If everything fails then she is going in for a facelift with a professional. I like to try things myself first. Isn’t that how we learn

Thanks,
Denny

Sounds like a good plan! They can be a little tricky to get rebuilt correctly, but never hurts to try.

I took one look at a magnified view of its choke lever end and have concluded the engine will probably start & run better without the carb by carefully pouring a stream of raw gas right down the chute. Jack E/NJ

NASUKAU,
E mail me your address I'll send you a shoulder screw N/C. I will caution you to not get too aggressive in your attempts to remove any brass parts that are stubborn,
that is best left to a pro. The power valve in the acc pump well quite often will require
replacement.....EVEN IF IT LOOKS GOOD......many used ones leak and in my opinion
should be tested or just replaced , internal leaks are guaranteed to drive you batty.
Do not forget to remove the emulsion tubes.......all kinds of crap seems to breed
in that area.
