Default Restored Muffler Clamps

City: Spring Grove
State: Illinois
Price: $24

For sale are some restored muffler clamps. I have over a dozen of them and can also restore yours. Mine go through a long process to make sure they will perform their job and not rust. I rust proof them by using a special paint and baking it to achieve an almost Japaned finish that is very hard and durable. The finish is a dark gray, a cast iron color. MARC allows the exhaust system to be painted a black, natural, or gray paint, so these will pass judging. For $24 you get the clamp, the correct bolts/nuts, and a handout with the process, information, and installation tips. If interested, tell me the year and month of the car because they changed the bolts in August 1929 and because there are early clamps that are different.

The reproduction clamps are notorious for not giving a tight fit resulting in unwanted noises or the unfortunate mishap of the clamp giving out, sending your newly restored muffler to the pavement. As long as your exhaust manifold and muffler flanges are in good condition, the fit should be sufficient.
Reproduction clamps are not good enough for a show car. Nor is a bare cast clamp that will rust. Vendors may claim their clamps are just as good as the originals but in the end, nothing can beat original parts especially foreign made reproduction parts. The cast iron they make today is completely different from the original casts they made. It can be much cheaper and more prone to failure if not up to quality. Furthermore, many have said that the diameter of the repro clamps is smaller than the originals, making them unusable.
