Default Spider gears

I'm preparing to rebuild my rear end....as I was cleaning up parts I noticed that the spider gears have a small amount of clearance when placed on the yoke....what tolerance are they suposed to have?

Hey Brok Spok, Yes it doesnt hurt to have some slack in the spiders. However if it is excessive you mite want to consider new pin yoke and or gears. I took up a little slack with the side gear shims from an old chev rearend on Mr Fords gears on one of mine, works fine. Tight isnt nessecary tho.
