Tracks are not, I need a steering wheel to hang on too.
But she sure does look nice.

Probably used to put out fires along the right of way that started from cinders blown out of steam locomotives. Apparently it never left the tracks, what with no steering wheel.

Would have been particularly useful on the SD&AE, since that line crosses the US-Mexico border twice and traverses very difficult terrain where there would be no road access.

The Campo R/R Museum just celebrated the 100 anniversary of the SD &AE this weekend. Our club & a1000 other people helped. The western 1/2 is open & being used by companies In Mexico for freight and the museum for tourist rides. The eastern 1/2 is still closed due to numerous damaged tunnels & bridges. The powers that be have been through about 3-5 companies going bankrupt trying to repair & open it up but I don't think it will happen during my life time.

Hi Ray, I actually live in Campo. I was hoping to come meet the club, but was severely ill on Saturday. I need to join the club. It's just difficult, living out here.
