No idea if you're still looking Ryan, but there's a 29' Canadian National Parks badge offered on EBay right now.

The $400 starting bid is twice as much as what you were willing to pay, but it appears to be in nice shape.

Here is the link:

I am surprised nobody is casting repos from the originals. Seems like a high demand for them.

I thought I would revive this thread. I found one similar to the Canadian badge but it is for Yellowstone.. The Canadian ones were used for entry into their National parks. I have been unable to find any information on the Yellowstone badge and any help would be appreciated, like: History, year used, maker, park issued, gift shop item, etc.

The parks buffalo's are stamped from copper or aluminum. I was very lucky to be offered a mint 1931 copper badge a couple of years ago. The person that sold it to me showed me how his was fastened to the stone guard. There are pre drilled holes for mounting . Use solid copper wire and solder it on the backside of your stone guard. The badge would be ruined trying to remove it from the front. So far so good, looks nice on my 31 coupe.

This is on ebay. Looks like Yellowstone used a sticker in 1928.

Parks in Canada are free this year? Hope this doesn't cause a stampede ...

They come up occasionally on ebay listed in vintage license plate toppers or tag toppers.

I have a 34 Beaver I used to have mounted on the coupe, then one day a fella offered me $500 for it. I said no thanks but felt uneasy the way he was checking out my beaver.
It is now in a cabinet to look at.

For someone that wanted to steal it, it wouldn't be hard to cut the copper wire. Nichrome wire and silver solder would be a little harder to defeat.

Since it's been about 5 1/2 years since Ryan first posted his interest in the Canadian Parks Badge, it would be interesting to find out if he ever got one.

It takes a lifetime or more to collect the whole lot, so he must be up to 3 or 4 by now.

The last time he posted on Ford barn was 8-18-13 at 5:50 AM.

Hard telling where he is today but you can email him...just click on his name in his initial post.
