Default Regular car wheels why must you use adapter plates when putting car wheels from a lat

Thinking about putting different wheels on my 31a was wondering what those plates were all about

The drums are not flat for a steel wheel and the stock back shock rods need the clearance.

This may explain the problem (assuming you are using the stock mechanical brake drums and hubs): https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...=1#post1286293 Once you add the adapters you may find the studs are too short, check before going too far. I would stick with the bent spoke Kelsey wheels, they bolt right on.

Kelsey's are as SCARCE as HENS' LIPS--Besides, they were loose REJECTS & they had to BEND the spokes, to TIGHTEN them---When I told Friend, Dennis, that, he wouldn't E-Mail me for a WEEK!

If they were rejects how did they grow the extra 8 spokes? Unless there are multiple ford 16in wheels. But the ones im looking at are 32 spoke. Im offten wrong and I mean no disrespect. I did some searching and could find no 40 spoke straight spoked ford wheels. Only the 40 spoke bent kesley's.
