Default getting out stuck head studs

I have been helping a couple friends built a hill climb engine. It had 8 stuck studs. They came up with a neat idea how to get them out, with out breaking them. They are Steven Grace and Bill DeVore. They took some 1/2 plastic conduit cut it about 3/4 inch long. Then put it around the stud and glued it to the block. Then filled it with penetrating oil,let it set for a few days. It worked.

They used black RTV

A sharp rap on the top with a hammer , then warm up &melt some candle wax around the base works for me , was surprised how good it worked, summer is here,

Thanks for the tip.
Enjoy the summer, we are just starting to get the cold here. I would rather have the heat.

I just did this, after all the usual advice, soaked with Kroil over week or two, MAP gas heat , tapping on studs, still broke 5. TIG is the best way, but even then we tried 3 times on one of the long water outlets and no go. I think we found a trick. Modified one of the tools for air hammer, set it on low, then heated around stud and started LIGHT vibration. You could just see the Kroil going right into stud, amazing. Did that a few times and out it came. Patience is the best tool in the box.

A Friend made a Play-Dough dam around 2 studs & filled them with COKE, overnight. They came out easily????

I wonder if the black oil resistant rtv would work as a glue... Ive heard of the clay dam before as well. I have a block with stuck in there studs i could try a few things on. Ive always wanted to try the candle wax trick!

I did the same sort of thing earlier this year.

Made a little dam with modeling clay around each stuck stud and filled with PBBlaster. Renewed as needed. Then double-nutting and they all came out.

I soak mine with Kroil for a day or two and then use my stud removing tool with a 24" breaker bar. Sometimes one or two breaks and I let my machine shop take it out.
