Default European Model A ? Custom body ?

This photo appeared on the MARC FB page yesterday.

Fenders and stance look like Model A, but the body is unique (4 door humpback).

Does anybody know anything about this car, or the coachwork ?

Could be one of the A's with body by Gläser of Dresden, Germany.

I saw that too. Not enough detail to positively identify but my thoughts were that it would be a special bodied Lincoln which would resemble many of the lines as a Model-A, ...just larger. A possible reason for hauling it on a horse-drawn wagon would be to take it from the coach builder to the dealer or rail depot for shipping.

The car itself is very exeptional, but so is the combination "car on horse trailer"! (or horse wagon)

I agree, that's a very unique picture, and one like I've never seen before.

The poor horse was wondering why they couldn't just find a tow-bar!

Here is a Gläsier Lincoln. The doors aren't the same but there are other similarities.

I saw pics of a custom Fordor, with a Victoria back section, grafted on. It was a Hot Rod.

I don't think that this is a model A. Wheels look different. The rear fender has a shorter "tail" and the front fender seems flatter.

Also, I wonder if that is a gas filler cap on the left side of the spare tire?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I do not see a Model A in that photo. The car on the wagon looks very British to me....maybe a Riley Six or Riley Nine, or some other Riley, or maybe a Crossley....or some other British Saloon.

The fenders are too wide, the wheels have too many spokes; no horn; is that a gas cap just to the left of the rear spare tyre? ...I can't find anything Model A about the car on the wagon.

.....just my $0.02.....but I have no clue about non-Ford British cars, so I'm just guessing.

That doesn't look Model A to me.
In 1930 or 31, several fordor sedans here were fitted with fabric bodies BY FORD AUSTRALIA in an effort the get rid of a few more cars after sales virtually stopped because of the depression. I'm told one or two have survived but I haven't seen one. Now that would be interesting.

The fabric bodied fordor's were 1929 Fordor's. Two have survived with one being featured in an earlier volume of 'restored cars'. My dad had the chance to get one in the early 60's, but didn't believe the lead he was given could be for a Model A, because he didn't know about the fabric bodies. It was the one that was around the Albury/Wadonga area.

I bet he's kicked himself ever since. One of those cars would be as rare as rocking horse $#!T. Worth a bit here but not sure the Americans would care.
