Have you guys seen "The Highwaymen" yet? It's a new movie that came out late last month. If you have a Netflix subscription I HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching it.

The film stars Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson who play Texas rangers on the hunt for Bonnie and Clyde. Predictably, there's LOTS of great Ford-V8 action, including a beautiful black '34 Fordor sedan that the two protagonists spend much of their time in. Check it out if you get a chance. It's a bit of a slow burn, but well worth it for the car spotting!

Are you sure that one is "the car"? There are a number of "clones" around!

I watched and thought it was a lot better than most of the things on TV nowdays. I'm waiting for the experts to tell us more about the cars because they are way before my time and I don't know that much about them as far as correct or not. Would like to learn.

The ambush was filmed in the exact location. as the real one, the car seens were really good.

Great movie! Just something I noticed was that most of the cars used were deluxe models. I know it’s probably nit-picky, but I would think there were probably more standard cars around than deluxe in 1934?

Hey if you are gonna steal a '34, why not grab a Deluxe? It was one of the fastest cars on the road in 1934!

Where is the James Dean death car? Nobody knows what happened to it. They know where the drive train went but not the car. Disappeared from a closed trailer on the way to Texas.

Good movie given from the opposite perspective compared to most Bonnie and Clyde movies. The 33 door pulls on all four doors of the 1934 ford in the movie drive me nuts for some reason.

I'd "guess" that most cars that are available to be used in a movie made today are restored... No surprise there is a lot of deluxe models.

Ya it was funny how woody (as an actor/character), once he/character learned that they can do wire taps" kept using it like he thought of it.

I like just about every Kevin Costner movie. well... most anyway. This one was great.

I noticed the wood grain ashtray radio dial in the plain dash. Also the wipers are modern replacements . Still a fantastic movie

First thing I noticed too; wife didn't like the that I had to rewind (seems like the wrong word now-a-days) the movie to take a second look.

I wondered, like Karl, about the wiper set-up.

Don't know why; but standing on the hood bothered me more than the bullet holes.

Does it really matter if it was the cowl instead of the hood? The point is he's standing on the car.

Think about it guys! I've seen them wreck lots of cars in movies. They can easily afford it. If they want to rent my car and stand on the hood, they can if they fix it and repaint it properly. (My car has a 30 year old re-paint that looks good from a distance, bit is a little "long in the tooth".)

Tubman, I'm not sure I'd want to own the 3rd down charger they used in the jump sequences on the Dukes of Hazard. The beauty shot car yes. But all those cars were studio owned.

It was always funny to hear tire durnout squeals from the tires on dirt on that show.

A few years ago Flathead Ted told me about a 34, possibly for sale , that was driven by Johnny Depp in the Dillinger movie. It had "Bullet" holes in it that needed removal -The studio used a punch to make them !-Karl

Look again guys, only the tan Bonnie and Clyde Fordor was a deluxe. The black Fordor was a standard (all standard window moldings, standard dash, one sun visor, and lift-the-handle door locks) with cowl lights added and a plated windshield frame. I agree with Michael that the added '33 door pulls were weird, especially where they put them.

Good film though, we enjoyed it. Some of the in motion cinematography of the black Fordoor was excellent!

I've watched this 8 times.... so far! Yeah, it's a slow mover at times but the all the 34's were sweet. I have a '33 deluxe and was hoping to spot one somewhere in the film. Even a Model B would've been nice to see.
I agree that the scene when Hamer stood on the front end made we wince.
The other nitpick I have is that the main '34 only had 1 visor and it was mounted wrong. Upside down. Yikes.

I didn't notice the visor but as it was a standard it would have only had one visor anyway -I need to look at the mounting -Karl

I once bought a Model A hood from the Sherriff of Altus,OK. It had been shot full of holes on both sides with a Thompson .45. On the good side, the holes had explosive charges in them with wires coming out on the inside. The outside was puttied and painted. The car had been used in a movie and the opposite side charges had already been set off in sequence to replicate being hit by sub machine gun fire.
