Three-Blade Fans
I know earlier Ford fans and hubs are serviceable. You can disassemble them relatively easily or pull the little drain plug to fill them with oil, but is there any way to service the later 1950 and up three-blade fans? I’m looking at one on my workbench right now and it looks like it has sealed bearings. Can it be rebuilt? If so, how does it come apart? Thanks in advance!

Re: Three-Blade Fans
They come apart if you have a press and they used a relatively common water pump bearing (I can find the number if need be). I replaced one on my '51. You have to cut the shaft on the bearing down to the correct length and them press the whole thing back together. I tried to do it with my LARGE bench vise, but ended up taking it to a friend who has a 20 ton press.

This was posted by a guy called "8-Track" on the H.A.M.B. : "I came up with NSK 885586 WATER PUMP BEARING on Ebay for $31.00 it is a universal bearing than needs to have the shaft trimmed to fit."

PS I would not buy the cheapest bearing, I'd get a genuine NSK from a bearing dealer.

Take it from Ross. He's the one who got me on to this.
