There's a whole lot of sense in that statement. You can look down in it and see whats happening. I like that. Lots of folks run the solid state jobbers, but it's a mystery box. What is the advantage of a Mallory duel point system? Why is it superior?
Has anyone tried the helmet distributors? How did that work for you? One thing for sure. I've got enough other problems to chase down. I need a reliable ignition to see if I can get the engine to crank.

There is a resistor under the dash. Have you bypassed it? If not, you will not get any spark. Never mind, I forgot you are running right off the battery.

Tubman and Bubba are correct . I use a helmet distributor(because that is what i have)on my 40 from Bubba and it is Great. Only been on there for 15 years.

Did you have to modify the fan, or anything else? Is it plug and play?
