Default wiring Signals

I know this has been covered and I have read the other posts but I have a question that seems obvious but I would like to see what others have done.

I have the Signal stat 900 and I think I basically understand how to wire it, but do I have to run two new wires all the way from the rear Left and Right brake bulbs to the front cowl area where I am making all the connections?? Or is it better to break into the harness somewhere and do it that way. Also I would think wire ties would be OK to attach the new wires to the outside of the existing wire harness (which is brand new but the previous owner just got the harness for running and brake light). Thanks

My preferance has alway been to run seperate wires and leave the original harness alone. It makes the system easy to install or remove, and also makes it easier to troubleshoot.

When I did mine I ran all the wires (to the front and rear) in the wire loom all the vendors carry and used BLACK cable ties. Almost looks "factory.
