Default hand windshield wiper placement

good evining gents. I have to have a winshield wiper to be legal with my lil speedster, so I got myself one of the mechanical hand operated ones, as ill never ever be in the rain I'm sure. I can not find any pictures or refrence where it is supposed to be placed. I'm sure we are supposed to drill a hole in the windshield frame but id sure like to put it in the right spot. anyone have any pics and or measurments of where the hole goes?

Hi Beater,
Both my 28 Model A and my 29 Chevy have the holes exactly in the middle of the steering. In other words as Maako says, in the centre of your view area.
Turn the steering with one spoke vertical and drill your hole exactly above the vertical spoke.
I could post photos of my instalation, but with the flash, there is too refection in the window.

I had an electric wiper installed and didn't like it. It obscured my forward vision. It was necessary to crane my neck and lower my head. I went to a hand wiper and fitted it through the same hole as the electric one used. I use it very little as it mainly tends to be a good weather car.

thankyou very much. that's what I wanted to see. is the hole drilled in the center of the tube aswell, or is it offcenter a bit to not hit the glass? also, is there a spring or anything there under the nut to keep the wiper under tension on the glass?
