Default 32 Tudor Sedan Door Sill Scuff Plates??

From the short description in David Rehor's book, the scuff plate attaches with #8 pan head screws, and the smallish pic shows the top flange UNDERNEATH the floor mat. But do the screws go in this top flange, or in the vertical flange against the sill side?
Any better pics?

Thanks in advance.

Here is a reproduction scuff plate with the screws in the vertical flange.

On your tudor sedan, unless they have been filled, there should be a string of small holes on top of your sill where the sill plate attached originally. there was only one screw on the vertical surface; one each at the very front of the sill plate. all of the rest of the attachments were on the horizontal surface of the sill. The heads of those on the horizontal surface are concealed by the floor mat/carpeting as shown in the photo below.

The standard and sport coupe sill plates were unique among the '32 body types with screws along both the entirety of the horizontal and vertical surfaces of the sill plates.

Well....whatta ya know? Found some original (and some non-original) holes right where DavidG said they would be. Figured the equidistant, evenly spaced ones were correct. Laid out and punched holes in the sill plate flange, and got it done. Thanks much!!
