Default Jets, timing and such

This is on a '48 truck with 8BA.
I recently ran the truck on my AFR meter and at idle it was pretty close to the center, so around 13.2 or so. Seemed to be a tad rich at cruise rpm though.
I found #50's in the Holley, so I went down a couple of numbers and it runs a
bit more crisp.

Since I've had the truck (2 years) I've had it timed by vacuum reading and
it's been just fine. (steady at 20 in hg) I found the timing pointer yesterday and
cleaned up the lower pulley..... are there timing marks on it? The only thing I saw was a
raised dimple that interestingly enough was about 2 degrees from the pointer
when the timing light flashed.

That's the only mark there is. The timing should be read at about 450-500 rpms with the distributor advance line unhooked and plugged.
