Windlace install
Is there a previous thread with a few pics of windlace installation and how it all fits together? I'm probably overthinking this but does the steel track just overlay the material and card board backer or does it "bite" the material and backer?
Pic one Pic two Or wrap excess material around and rivet whole thing Thanks guys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Windlace install
Right or wrong, I doubled the excess back over the cardboard with contact cement then as pic. 1

Re: Windlace install
I guess Tudors wind lace is different in that area as my track is on the actual door itself and not the jam like yours but what I did was wrap the excess material over the cardboard and glue it inside the steel track. It was a nice tight fit.

Re: Windlace install
Being that your Sport Coupe is an early '28, the windlace metal molding strips would be the early style that are a one-piece folded over. The windlace should have a cardboard strip stitched to the salvage side that is about 1/2" wide. That fits in between the metal molding, which is then all riveted to the body with semi-tubular rivets with the heads (facing out) painted body color. Don't forget to fold the windlace fabric into the hollow tube on the ends to give it a neat finished end as original.
