Default 1965 Shelby Mustang 1" front sway bar

Painted gloss black, mate black, or natural?

As I remember they were natural. Factory Ford cars had a yellow and green stripe on each end to tell the installers which was left and right. Because Shelby installed the 1" bars they may not had the strips. My 66 Shelby does not.

Sorry I forgot to check my car, its buried in storage, but I did look. Mine is painted black. Now I don't know for sure, as my car had a amature restoration back around 1993/4. The black is flaking off. My first 66 Shelby was natural, it was 1324, the one I have now is earlier, 322.

Thank you. Think I'll go with natural. Not sure how to clean it. Use diluted muriatic acid to clean bolts but would take a big container and a lot of acid to do the sway bar. May try burshing it on. Satin clear coat when I am done. Got new bushings and end link bushings ordered from Branda.
