Wiring insulation burn-through
I, after many years with 40's flatheads learned that wires; sparkplug, temp sender crossover, etc. that rest on the intake manifold can and do burn through in the area of the carb. Any of you experience this and do you know a source for conduit that is fabric or other not shiny material to cover those wires where they burn through?

Suggest you replace with high temperature wire (Like used in stoves) You can get it in black with the cloth like outer cover.

Re: Wiring insulation burn-through
I believe all our usual vendors sell cloth covering to make up wire looms. It's intended to look like original cloth covering. I would think your cloth covered wires would be protected if in a second cloth loom, and the appearance would be near-correct.
